Hello, my name is Katrina Meulemans, and I am a fully qualified, BACP registered therapist in Ashford, Kent, and online.
I understand that sometimes the stresses of life become too much, and at times like these you need a space to be listened to. My private home studio is a confidential, welcoming place where you can talk freely about the issues that are weighing you down. My specialist experience also includes working with people struggling with depression, anxiety, bereavements, and addiction.
You might be nervous coming to therapy for the first time, but don’t fear! I am a friendly, empathetic therapist who works with you in a down-to-earth way and always maintains a sense of humour, making sure you feel comfortable and heard at all times.
If you are looking for an integrative therapist in Ashford, Kent, or online, feel free to get in touch and ask any questions you may have.
Making the decision to see a counsellor is a big step to take - but it can be a positive one. Please read on to find out more about how I could help you.
As an integrative psychotherapist, I draw on multiple therapeutic approaches to offer a bespoke intervention that is right for you in particular. Every individual is unique, so each problem requires its own specific person-centered solution. I will work closely with you to identify the positive influences in your life – what makes you tick – and develop a personalised treatment plan from there, always taking care to readjust our plan in accordance with your changing needs over time.
My approaches include but are not limited to:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Relapse Prevention and Harm Reduction
Our first session is a 60-minute assessment, during which you will have the chance to walk me through the issues you are facing, how they are affecting your life, and get an understanding of how I work as a therapist. This session is all about learning whether I offer the right kind of therapy for you, along with me deciding whether we would be a good fit. A risk assessment is a part of this process. If you are actively suicidal, you will be directed to a specialist service elsewhere.
Ahead of this initial session, feel free to give me a call or email to ask any important questions you might have prior to scheduling an appointment.
My private home practice is situated in the pretty Ashford village of Great Chart. Upon arriving at my home, you will be led down to a beautiful, secluded little lodge house at the bottom of my garden, which is surrounded on all sides by lush fields and horses and donkeys.
It is a very peaceful, natural space – perfect for someone who feels weighed down by stress and would benefit from spending an hour each week in a calm, confidential location where they can explore the issues that are negatively affecting their life. Think of it as your own personal sanctuary!
Following our initial assessment, sessions are 50 minutes long.
My availability at present is 9am to 5pm on Wednesdays and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays, although this will expand further down the line.
Feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
You can also call me on 07825567096 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first.
