COUNSELLING & PSYCHOTHERAPY IN ASHFORD, KENT & ONLINE

Friendly, Strictly Confidential Personalised Counselling

If you are feeling weighed down by stress, anxious, depressed, or suffer from issues such as addiction, grief, BDD, or relationship issues, I am here to give you a helping hand.

My name is Katrina Meulemans, and I am a fully qualified, BACP registered therapist in Ashford, Kent, and online who has also faced many of the issues mentioned above, and as such understand how hard it is to reach out for help. That is why I take extreme care to create the best possible therapeutic environment for you – a completely remote, scenic lodge house that you can view as a personal retreat, a place to process the stressors and traumas affecting your wellbeing in a way that makes sense to you.

If you are seeking a therapist in Ashford, Kent, and online for the first time, it is natural to have a few questions. Please see below to view answers to the most frequently asked questions about my services.

What Happens During Therapy?

To start with, you will be invited to speak freely about the problems you are facing. I will listen carefully to ensure I identify the primary source of your pain – the main reason you came to therapy. Having gained an understanding of your situation, I will draw on different therapeutic techniques – CBT, relapse prevention, etc. – to create a personalised treatment plan that goes to the heart of the problems you face, allowing you to process them healthily and reduce the role they play in your everyday life.

Is Therapy Confidential?

Yes, apart from a few extreme exceptions. Therapy is a safe space where you speak openly about your difficulties and confront painful emotions knowing that the information given in the session won’t be disclosed to anyone. Having this confidentiality is so important, as it enables you to speak with complete honesty.

How Are Meetings Arranged?

Please fill out the booking form or contact me directly. Sessions are available from my private practice in Great Chart as well as over Zoom, with the first initial session lasting 60 minutes and meetings thereafter lasting 50 minutes. Once we have decided to work together, we will agree on a schedule that suits you.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

There is no right number of sessions, as it varies between person to person. You might only need around four to six sessions, while others may require weekly sessions over a number of months. It really depends on your personal situation. Ahead of starting work together, I will discuss this with you, and you are always free to change your mind or pause sessions at any time.

How Much Will It Cost?

Sessions last for approximately 50 minutes at a cost of £55 for in-person sessions and £50 for sessions over Zoom. Payment can be made by cash, cheque, or bank transfer.

Is Going to Therapy a Sign of Weakness?

On the contrary, seeking a burnout psychotherapist in Ashford, Kent, or online is an act of self-love – and incredible bravery. Getting help is a difficult but extremely important thing to do. It means you confront your issues head on and develop greater inner strength going forward.
